Penang Port Celebrates 5 Million Ferry Riders, Honouring Public Support and Ferry Crew

BUTTERWORTH, May 1 – Penang Port Sdn Bhd marked a major milestone by celebrating 5 million ferry riders, a testament to the enduring importance of the ferry service in connecting Penang Island and the mainland. The celebration took place at the Pangkalan Sultan Abdul Halim (PSAH) ferry terminal and was graced by Dato’ Seri Syed Mohamad bin Syed Murtaza, Chairman of Penang Port, and CEO Dato’ Sasedharan Vasudevan.

Passengers were treated to goodie bags as a token of appreciation for their continued patronage. Dato’ Seri Syed Mohamad hailed the achievement as a reflection of the community’s trust in the ferry service, stating that Penang Port remains committed to enhancing the travel experience. Echoing this, Dato’ Sasedharan expressed gratitude to the public and dedicated ferry crews whose efforts have ensured the service’s reliability, safety, and popularity over the years.
