As part of efforts to understand its stakeholders better, Penang Port recently hosted a get-together with the committee of Penang Freight Forwarders Association (PFFA).

The event was held at Deluxcious Hotel & Restaurant on 10 November 2014.

According to Md Derick Basir, Senior General Manager Support Services, one of the main objectives of the get together was to discuss possible collaboration initiatives and to explore on ways of further facilitating Cargo movement in and out of the port’s various terminals via improved processes and procedures.

“We want to see how we can provide seamless movement of cargo for exporters and importers in the Northern Region” Derick said.

According to Steven Yoogalingam, Penang Port’s Chief Operating Officer, in its efforts to better understand stakeholders’ operational issues, the port management regularly meets with its stakeholders including PFFA via monthly Port Users meetings.
