• Ensure compliance with competition law, including review, compilation, and submission of competition law checklists.
• Support general legal functions, including legal training, risk management, legal searches (CTOS and others), raid response readiness, legal updates, and budget management.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) (Hons.) or its equivalent.
• Qualified as Advocates and Solicitors of High Court of Malaya.
• At least five (5) years experience as a law practitioner and/or in-house counsel.
• Experience in litigation with solid corporate/legal advisory exposure.
• Strong written and spoken English and Malay.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to plan and manage legal matters independently.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, organize and execute hydrographic surveys in accordance with IHO (International Hydrographic Organization) standards using advanced survey tools including multibeam echo sounds, single beam echo sounders, GNSS/GPS positioning, monitoring and sound velocity profilers in accordance to ISO Requirement for periodical maintenance dredging.
  2. To comply with the policies, directions and Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) on marine operation activity and marine safety measure for Penang Port.
  3. Supervise and coordinate daily deployment of hydrographic survey vessels, including crew assignment, equipment setup, and pre-survey calibration activities.
  4. Generate and review high-resolution bathymetric charts, 3D seabed terrain models, contour maps, and nautical chart overlays.
  5. Interpret and validate survey results to support critical decisions in dredging activities, marine construction, berthing safety and channel clearance assessments.
  6. Prepare and submit technical reports, survey summaries, chart updates and dredging progress maps for internal stakeholders and regular authorities (e.g., Port Authorities, port planning division).
  7. Maintain comprehensive documentation, including survey records, equipment calibration logs, project timelines and data archive systems.
  8. Monitor the condition and performance of hydrographic equipment and ensure timely maintenance or calibration.
  9. Implement and enforce occupational health and safety standards during all hydrographic
    operations.
  10. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and safe navigation protocols in hydrographic practices.
  11. Experienced as a draughtsman in hydrographic survey.
