Strengthening Diplomatic Ties, H.E. Naiyl M. Latypov Visits Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal

Penang Port Sdn. Bhd. (PPSB) recently hosted H.E. Naiyl M. Latypov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Malaysia, for a courtesy visit at the Swettenham Pier Cruise Terminal (SPCT). Our Chairman, Dato’ Seri Syed Mohamad bin Syed Murtaza, alongside Dato’ Teoh Seng Lee, Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in Penang, received the Ambassador and his delegation to reinforce bilateral and diplomatic ties. 

To provide a firsthand look at our current operations, the delegation was given a guided tour of the cruise terminal facilities. This walkthrough offered a clear understanding of SPCT’s role within the regional cruise industry and its capacity for future international cooperation. The visit highlighted a mutual interest in fostering stronger trade and tourism links between Penang and the Russian Federation. 

The engagement concluded with a formal exchange of plaques, symbolising professional respect and a shared vision for future partnership. This meeting marks another step forward in PPSB’s efforts to enhance regional connectivity through international diplomacy.
